Baby Doll Lingerie: Hints & Tips

Baby doll lingerie is one type of sexy lingerie that flatters almost every figure, from the full-bodied woman to the petite. Baby doll lingerie is also a classic style, dating back to the fifties.

Baby doll lingerie has been in fashion for over 50 years, and that says a lot about its appeal to women of all ages, shapes and sizes. The popularity is due, in part, to the fact that baby doll screams young, innocent, and cute. What woman can argue with that?

Baby dolls are basically short, sleeveless negligees with shaped cups and loose fitting skirts (usually hitting mid-thigh or a little higher), but there are many types and styles available. The options include sheer baby doll lingerie, exotic print babydolls, and lace babydoll lingerie. Some favorite fabrics for baby doll lingerie are silk, nylon and chiffon. These are often trimmed with ruffles, lace, fur, bows or ribbons-and sometimes even several of these at once for an extremely sexy or risqué babydoll twist.

And sexy is what babydolls are all about, especially ones that come with matching panties, often thongs or g-strings. A sweet, sexy style like that is sure to make babydolls a big hit with the man in your life.

Lingerie Online

When shopping for baby doll lingerie, browse online from the privacy of your home. This is far different from when women of the 50s had to go into department stores to purchase risqué lingerie and felt as if the sales clerk was looking on with distaste. There is no more embarrassment, and online shopping has made it easier than ever to buy any type of sexy lingerie without a woman feeling she has a scarlet letter attached to her blouse!

Shopping Tips for Necklines

Some tips for purchasing baby doll lingerie include looking for a neckline complimentary to your bust line. Many babydoll lingerie pieces have V-necklines with built-in push-up cups. This type of neckline is great for anyone with a small bust or one that needs some lift to look its best. Scoop neck lines that are curved are good for full-busted women. If you're petite, stay away from too many ruffles around the neckline of your baby doll lingerie because ruffles tend to overpower your face-and bust.

Color My World

Consider the color and pattern when shopping for baby doll lingerie. Red may scream sexy, but not if it's the one color that makes you look as if you've had the flu or your skin already has pinkish tones. Choose colors that are flattering to your skin tone and hair color, just as you would for any type of clothing. Be wary of exotic patterns that can overpower and put too much tart into the innocent but sexy look you're aiming for.

Soft and Soothing

Finally, think about the fabrics. This may sound negligible, but soft and comfortable fabric is important if you're planning to wear your baby doll lingerie often, and easy care is important too. Fabrics like silk may not be your best choice. That's okay, because nylon makes a great substitute and is much more washer-friendly. After all, baby doll lingerie should bring extra fun into your life, not extra work!

Plus Size Lingerie: How To Show Off Your Curvy Figure

Not long ago, it was difficult for women to find plus size lingerie. Thanks to designers who recognized that full-bodied women deserved lovely and erotic plus size lingerie, the search is over.

Major department stores and boutiques of all sizes carry lines of beautiful full figure lingerie these days, and stores who cater to plus size women are also a great place to find larger size lingerie.

Still, many women find they're uncomfortable going into these stores to shop for lingerie for larger sizes. They also find that the selections may be limited in individual stores, and they have to go from store to store to find just the plus size lingerie they're looking for.

That's usually when the web becomes a plus size woman's new best friend. With a simple click of a mouse, a full figured woman can find an endless assortment of lingerie. Doing so from the privacy of her own home gives a feeling of freedom and ease that she generally doesn't feel when shopping in person. Without sales clerks hovering over her shoulder, a plus size woman has the autonomy and privacy she craves when she's shopping for plus size lingerie. She can give over to her wild side completely and purchase whatever suits her taste, figure and sense of adventure.

One lingerie garment that no full figured woman should miss out on, however, is the plus size corset. It's an absolute must-have. Why? A plus size corset is just perfect for showing off those gorgeous curves. It not only highlights them, it also perfects them into lush lavishness.

Another lingerie item that a plus size woman should have in her wardrobe is a baby doll. This garment often has a bra built in that lifts and shapes those lovely breasts, and its flowing skirt hits about mid-thigh, beautifully draping those curves. The perfect neckline for a plus size woman's baby doll lingerie would be scoop or V-neck, and plus size women can get away with baby dolls that have lots of sexy ruffles or feathers since those styles won't overwhelm their bust but will enhance it.

These are just a few suggestions for buying plus size lingerie. When shopping online, a woman can also find a multitude of articles that have information and tips for buying plus size lingerie. These resources can be a great guide to buying just the right lingerie to enhance and flatter the plus size figure and make a woman of any size feel beautiful and sexy.

Because these days it's not about covering up but showing off those plus size curves. With a little guidance, a full figured woman can have not only the plus size lingerie she dreams of, but also have the best lingerie for turning what she may think of as flaws into assets - which makes her feel as beautiful as she truly is.

Are You A Plus Size? Lingerie Is For You Too

After decades of only targeting the slim poster girl types for lingerie the industry has started shifting back to marketing more lingerie for women with more ample figures. It seems that the lingerie manufacturers are finally realizing that the larger portion of the population is at least a little larger than the girls on the runway commercials for lingerie and some may be a lot bigger!

For many women the attainment of the pencil thin figure is simply just not possible. Many women naturally have a larger frame or are naturally predisposed to carry a little extra weight and will never be able to meet the image of the super models that some lingerie makers are pushing.

The supply of plus size lingerie seems to be finally catching up to the demand as designers and lingerie makers are finally seeing that there are more women who look like Marilyn Monroe and Anna Nicole Smith before her diet program than women who look like Pamela Anderson or Tyra Banks. There is an especially strong presence of offerings on the internet.

The ability to buy and wear lingerie to increase self confidence and esteem is not just reserved for the so called skinny girls. Plus size women can reap the benefits as well and wearing sexy lingerie can go a long way to making them feel better about themselves.

It is a fact that if a woman feels sexy and attractive that she will be more confident and have more self esteem. Now it seems that our society and culture is finally catching up to reality.
Some of the things you can do to encourage your significant other if you are a man reading this article are the following:

Tell her how much you love her, and do it often. Plus size women are very often insecure and need to be reminded that they are loved. It doesn't cost anything, and it doesn't take a lot of time and effort either. Secondly, get on the internet and buy your loved one some plus size lingerie that will make her feel sexy and attractive.

Ladies, remember that the larger portion of the population is plus size not small like the TV commercials and print ads would have you believe. So, you deserve to wear beautiful lingerie and should go online and shop for some now! You will find a huge selection of lingerie in all sizes, shapes, and colors that are sure to please you and leave you feeling sexy and attractive.

Bra fitting guide
Finding the right size bra is often a trouble for many women; estimates are that about 80% of women wear the wrong size bra. This is not healthy for your breasts - especially if breasts are in too tight a bra.

Let your breasts have free time from bras daily - preferably more than 12 hours of your day should be bra-free. This will help the lymph flow within your breasts. And, when choosing a bra, try have yourself fitted by a professional. Part of these bra fitting tips have been submitted to us by a professional bra fitter. If you have more tips how to find the right bra size, please submit them in the comment field below - especially so if you're a professional bra fitter yourself.

What to know about getting a bra fitting:
The band size (or chest size) is the number part of your bra size. The cup size is the letter part. EX: if you are in a 36 B then 36 is the band and B is the cup.
You are not going to get as good of a measurement as someone else would by measuring yourself. Let someone else measure you.
A measurement CAN be done over the bra you are wearing AND over your T-shirt If you plan on getting fitted don't wear a thick shirt like a sweatshirt or sweater.
If you have large and/or sagging breasts then when the person is taking your band measurement, you should pull up on your bra's shoulder straps so that she can get the measuring tape under your breast for an accurate measurement.
EX: I had 2 different sale ladies "fit" me a yr. ago. One did not have me pull up on my straps and told me I was a 44DD. The size seemed to work but I was messing w my bra all day long and the wire kept poking me. I went back and 2nd lady "fitted" me and had me pull up on my straps and came out w a 40 DDD. Which turned out to be my "true" size. The wire stopped hurting me and I stopped messing w my bra while I wore it.
If you wear a bra with padding or stuff your bra then you are not going to get an accurate measurement. If you plan on getting fitted wear a bra without padding.
Not all fittings will tell you the "right" size, but will give you a good place to start at usually.
Try on different styles of bras. Every style fits and fills different and can "shape" your breast differently.
Don't rush trying on bras. Really pay attention to how they fit and feel. Go bra shopping when you know you have the TIME for it. Many women have had to take up to an hour, or more, trying on several different sizes and styles to find the bra that gave them the fit and feel they wanted.
If your bra fits correctly, it should NOT be painful or uncomfortable to wear.
Finding the band size
Have someone measure around your chest with a tape measure, just under your breasts, and around the back. Make sure the tape measure rests flat on the skin and goes straight across your back. Add 5 inches to this measurement - that's your band size (also called chest size). If you end up with an odd number, go up to the next even number, since bras usually only come in even-numbered band sizes.

If you're "plus-size", you don't need to add those 5 inches.

Finding the cup size
Measuring the cup size is trickier; even with a measurement it is better to try on different bras and find out experimentally which one fits.

Have someone measure you again, this time the measuring tape goes on top of the fullest part of your breasts. If you already own a well-fitting non-padded bra, you can wear it while taking this measurement as long as it doesn't 'flatten' your breasts (which would make an illusion of a smaller cup size). Record this number, and find the difference between that, and the band-size number. The difference tells you the correct cup size as follows:

Difference:
(inches) negative < 1 1" 2" 3" 4" 5" 6" 7"
Cup size AAAA or AAA AA A B C D DD or E DDD or F DDDD or G

Remember again, bra measuring is not exact science. And how could it be when women's breasts come in so many different shapes and sizes? Usually one breast is bigger than the other, they might sag, etc. So the fitting room tells you the truth; not the tape measure. You have to try the bra on. If it first right, that's your bra size even if the tape measure told you different.

How to tell if your bra fits correctly.
It should fit snugly around. You ought to be able to fit one or two fingers under the band comferterbly. If you are pulling down the back strap or pulling up on the shoulder straps through out the day then the band size (the # part of your bra size) is too big.
Can you fit 1 or 2 fingers comfortably? If yes then the band is right size.
If you're having a hard time putting one finger under the band then move the hooks to the loosest fitting eyes. If on the loosest fitting, if it's still tight then try on one in the next up band size.
If the band can easily be pulled away from your body, or if the band rises up your back, then go down one in the band size.
If you are wearing an underwire bra the wire that comes up between the breasts should lay flat (or as close as possible) to your breast bone. If you are wearing a bra w no underwire, you should have two separate breasts, not just a one big boob.
If the bra is a soft cup bra you shouldn't have any extra, gapping fabric. If the bra is a molded cup you shouldn't have any extra room in the cup. Your breast should completely fill the cup. If it is gapping and the band feels fine then go down in the cup size.
You don't want to be spilling out of the cup. Not from the top, bottom or sides. If the band feels find then go up a cup size.
If you raise your arms up (do this a few times) the bra should stay against your body, not lifting up or off. If this happens try a few things;
adjust the shoulder straps by loosing them
Pay attention to the band. Is it too tight? Or too loose? Or just right?
If the band is just right, and adjusting the shoulder straps didn't work then go up a cup size.
If have a small frame or are petite, and you find a bra that fits the band, and you don't quite fill the cup and you have already tried the next cup size down and it's still not quite right OR if the you have the "right" size, the band fits and you fill the cup, but the wire is poking your underarms, then try a Demi bra. A Demi style bra is different from a full coverage bra. The Demi has less wire, by about an inch or more.
For the dads out there helping their girls to shop for a bra:
Just like boxers and briefs and jockstraps are all very different in fit and comfort for you. For her every bra is different and we have hundreds of bra styles to choose from.
Don't rush her. Let her try on as many bras as she needs too to find what is right for her.

Large breasts often bring problems
Women with very big breasts - DD or DDD (also labeled E and F) cup size - often are not happy with them because of the problems they experience with large bust. Being top-heavy can mean back pains, breasts being on the way when you reach for things, and also getting unwanted attention from the opposite sex. Or, women may even find they are not taken seriously. And, finding fitting clothing or clothing that looks good can be a problem. Many women get painful grooves from bra straps on their shoulders.

Yet it is so ironic that a good portion of women with smaller breasts are also unhappy and actually wish to have larger breasts - up to D or DD size. They don't realize what they are wishing for because life is not necessarily easier with bigger breasts. Read on to find some tips for coping with big heavy breasts.

Can I make my breasts smaller?
There are only two ways to do this, and often neither is usable:

Breast reduction surgery
Losing weight, because when you lose weight, fat disappears from all parts of your body, including breasts. Warning (especially for teens): Do NOT try lose weight if you are already normal weight or skinny, because being underweight can cause health problems too. Also, dieting during puberty puts you at risk of mineral and vitamin deficiencies, which may affect your brain and your intelligence! If you want to lose weight, you'd better study nutrition so as to make sure your body gets the nutrients it needs even while dieting.
And, there are so-called 'minimizer bras' to make the breasts appear smaller. These will 'squash' the breasts somewhat, and so are not really healthy to wear for long term.

Tips for large breasted women
Aside from breast reduction and losing weight, here are some tips and ideas to help large-busted women.

Do maintain good posture. If you try to hide your bust by hunching, that alone can cause back pains.
Bras. Many women with heavy breasts find they want to wear a bra. But it is still an individual thing; your body may be able to bear the weight of breasts just fine even if you go braless (but remember the good posture). But often large-breasted women also don't like the bouncing effect, or the droopiness. Just try to find a truly fitting bra!
Minimizer bras can help you with clothing issues for special occasions; but be careful not to wear this kind of bra on a regular basis as it is so constrictive.
Try dress so as to de-emphasize the bust:

Don't draw attention to the chest area with your clothing. Don't wear blouses with pockets or shirts with large patterns at the bust. Don't wear clingy tops, clingy t-shirts or high waisted pants that draw attention to the bust line. Don't wear tops with horizontal stripes.
Also avoid tight pants, tight jeans, pencil skirts, because small and tight bottom in turn emphasizes the top.
V-necks, turtlenecks and open collars as necklines draw attention to your face and away from chest - but choose such that are 'modest' enough to not show any cleavage.
Draw the eye away from your top by wearing skirts and pants with patterns and prints. Try short skirts, and light colored or 'nude' hosiery to draw attention to legs. Try also A-line skirts.

Spicing Up Your Marriage With Hot Lingerie

By: Bonnie Ray

Lingerie- exotic or familiar; sexy or demure; playful or serious. It can be bold or discreet, charming or in-your-face. Discount or luxurious. It comes in so many varieties that ANY woman can find something to suit her. And it’s not just for "other" women, beautiful women, or single women. Even if you've been in a relationship with one man for many years, you can wear a little lingerie to spice things up.

If you need a change of pace, you can always count on lingerie. Want something exotic? Go for an unusual print. Leopard print and zebra print let you let your wild side out. If you’re feeling really naughty, you might want to wear a leopard print camisole to work- or even to go shopping. Boy, that’ll shake things up!

Want to make your marriage a little more sexy? Trust me, ladies, if you wear lingerie, he WILL pay attention! But don’t just save it for the bedroom. Wear something sexy under a skirt; go somewhere with him; and then give him a peak! I guarantee it’ll spice things up!

Here's another trick you can use to get him to notice you. Send the kids off to grandma’s house... Wait until your man is watching TV... And then vacuum the floor in beautiful lingerie. I promise he won’t be watching TV long. Many a woman has done this to jump-start a hot evening. Even if you think your man is bored with you, give it a try. You may be surprised at how excited he'll get.

One last marriage-related lingerie trick: if you’ve been married long, you may have noticed that you’re spending a lot more of your time in bed together just, well, SLEEPING. Now, sleep’s necessary, but I can think of better things to in bed... And if you come to bed in a sexy gown or some other lingerie, you may notice that you start to get less sleep again. Men get excited by change, so don't just wear the same outfit every night. Change it up a little. It'll keep things fresh (pun intended).

If you're concerned about shopping for lingerie in your local department store or a local ligerie shop you shouldn't be. Elegant, sensuous lingerie will make you feel like a new woman. Besides, now there are a ton of lingerie shops online you can order from. And these aren't sleaze shops, you'll find a nice range of different types of lingerie you can choose from.

Lingerie, Sore Knees, and Male Shoppers
By: Ed Williams

At the top of the list of things that I most don't like to do, shopping has a hallowed spot. Granted, there are a couple of things that I would hate to do more, but my editors would have six strokes if I entered into dialogues about any of them here. Being respectful of their wishes, and also respectful of the fact that writing a column that no one would print is rather pointless, I'll move forward and get right to the point. I was forced into a shopping experience for a computer part today, and while doing that l learned a tad more about women, which is always a good thing.

First off, about my computer - a few days ago I spilled something I shouldn't have on my keyboard, which necessitated the purchase of another one. After I got all of the cussing out of my system, I grimly realized that I was going to have to enter that one true hell for all men, a shopping mall. Honest to God, I'm cringing just writing down those two words. Shopping malls are the bane of all genuine men, and for good reason:

1. Concrete floors covered with just carpet on top of them are not designed for the male knee, especially the middle aged male knee which has already been weakened by football, baseball, and untold years of household chores like working on plumbing problems underneath the sink. If malls were designed for men, they would Astro Turf the floors, but they're not, so no need to waste any more time wishing for it.

2. As if '1' wasn't bad enough, ninety-five percent of the stores in most malls cater to women, in fact, they sell uniquely female items - make-up, feminine hygiene related products, and last, but certainly not least, lingerie. We'll talk more about lingerie in a minute.

With all that having been said, I went to a shopping mall today looking for a replacement keyboard. As I walked and grimaced my way along the rows of stores, I quickly found a computer joint, went in, and bought my keyboard. I had only spent about twenty total minutes inside the mall, so I was feeling pretty darned proud of myself for being so efficient. And then, it happened....

I still can't explain just exactly why, but I happened to walk up on one of those mall lingerie shops. Y'all know the name, I'm sure, and I just happened to walk right up on it. And, for some reason that I can't quite explain, I was transfixed. So transfixed that I walked right on in and started looking around.

Guys, let me tell you, they had stuff in there that would make just about any fantasy you've ever had about a woman come true. I was goin' around gawking like a two year old who'd just discovered chocolate, when this lady came up and asked me if I needed help' I figured that I can always use help, so we started talkin' - our conversation went something like this:

'Mam, I'm sorry to be taking up your time, but this just beats all i've ever seen.'

'What can I help you with, sir''

'I will never understand this, mam.'

'Understand what, sir''

'Mam, my brain is just going crazy looking around at all this stuff. It's like a Six Flags Adventure Park for a red blooded male. Does this stuff sell well, mam''

'Sir, we have a healthy business situation.'

'As well you should, mam. I'll just never figure this out.'

'Figure out what, sir''

'Well, with lingerie, it seems like the more you get to see of the woman the more it costs. Take these little lace and postage stamp sized bottoms right here, they cover nothing, yet they cost $125. Worse yet, if you buy them, the whole goal is to get them off the woman as soon as is humanly possible. The whole deal makes no sense at all.'

'Sir, we could talk forever about this, but there are other customers that I need to help. So let me leave you with this to ponder - if buying lingerie for your special lady ultimately gets you what you want, why do you care if it makes sense to you or not''

With that, she walked away.

Know something' She's one hundred percent right. Know something else' She wasn't half bad looking herself, and I'm fighting to not think about how she would've looked in that tiger striped ensemble with the gold sequins all over it....

Let Your Plus Size Dress Apparel Help You Shine
By: GSET Publishing

Ever felt out of place at a dinner party? Or perhaps a cocktail affair where women were required to wear skimpy dresses meant to show off skinny legs and Twiggy-style hips? You no longer need to put up with that - look good even with plus size dress apparel.

The common misconception is that larger-bodied women are also unattractive women. This is not so! These are modern times, and modern couturiers cater to the needs of women of all body types. Frankly, there's no excuse not to attend those formal dress affairs anymore. Plus size dress apparel is now being manufactured to cater to every occasion, for every woman.

More often than not, what makes ANY kind of woman unattractive is her low self-esteem. You don't need to feel bad because you don't look the same as the impossibly skinny models who are heavily made up and then featured on magazine covers and soap operas. Do you want to be as doll-like - or do you aim to make the best of the beauty you were naturally meant to have?

Dresses - formal dresses, especially - are meant not just to cling to the body, but also to accentuate the parts of the body that especially call for highlighting. For example, you may have smooth, creamy skin, like a lot of full-bodied women tend to have; it would then be good to look around for a dress that would allow you to show off a lot of skin, especially in the arms and upper body area. Showing off your elegant neckline is an excellent way to draw attention to your well-formed upper body, and to bring a natural glow to your face.

Certain cuts of dresses also serve to slim down certain body parts. For full-bodied women who want to play down the size of their hips or their waistlines, two-piece dresses may be the best option. Also, not all full-figured women have well-developed bust areas - dresses with decorative accessories for the upper body, such as blazers or stoles, would certainly help.

Be careful about choosing sleeveless dresses, too. Some full-bodied women may have narrow shoulders and large-ish arms, which may make sleeveless dresses seem awkward. Some formal wear with long sleeves or mid-size sleeves would definitely work well in such an occasion.

Above all: keep your back straight and your chin in the air. Don't be afraid to show off the beautiful and glamorous you. Shine in any affair with plus size dress apparel.
